The Ultimate Guide To Keyword Research Using SEMRUSH Tool

SEMRush is an online premium web tool (free with limited features) that is extremely helpful in finding out the information about several metrics related to other websites.

Even though, there are several other keyword research tools available in the market (Long Tail Pro/ Market Samurai etc.), the working strategy for each one is different.

Recently, I have got a chance to use the SEMRush Premium Tool (With Agency Subscription) and I liked that way it worked.

From keyword research point of view, I could generate several excellent keywords (especially long tail keywords).

Well, here is my exclusive guide/tutorial on how to use the SEMRush Web Tool to do the keyword research.

Step by Step Process: Keyword Research Using SEMRUSH Tool

As soon as I log in to my account, the DASHBOARD appears with several modules, each one catered according to its functionality.

The search box, by default, is set to “US” to give us all the relevant search data in accordance with the US.

It also allows you to change this default country type to others like Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey, Argentina, Mexico, Hong Kong and Singapore as listed in the drop-down menu.

You can also navigate to Keyword Research > Overview to perform the keyword research.

Step 1: Enter your main keyword in the search box & select your country ( by default it will be the US)

Step 2: SEMRush checks its database which contains a huge number of records for the related keyword and provides the interesting information.

It gives details such as

  1. Keyword Summary
    1. a) Keyword
    2. b) CPC
    3. c) Competition
    4. d) Volume
    5. e) Number of Results
  2. CPC Distribution
